Boy, does Southwest Idaho have something for you. Here, you can fill your days with adrenaline-pumping good times of every variety. World-class whitewater? Check. Mountain lakes? Of course. Desert canyons? Yup, those too. Heck, Southwest Idaho’s largest city, Boise, was named the #1 Adventure City by National Geographic Adventure Magazine. But enough blah blah blah. Let’s get specific...

Rafting & Kayaking: Idaho is home to some of the best whitewater in the nation. And we’re not just saying that. The Payette River (both its north & south forks) provide a wide range of fun, from “just-enough excitement” Class II rapids to “that was freakin’ crazy” Class IV rapids. Guided trips from a few hours to a few days are available.

Hell’s Canyon: Southwest Idaho is your jumping off point to jet boat or raft North America’s deepest canyon. Big water. History. Fun.

Boating: Slip on those water skis or wakeboard and get out to one of our many scenic lakes, including the ginormous Lake Cascade or the Ponderosa Pine bordered Payette Lake.

Ski in the summer: Many come to Bruneau Sand Dunes to hike, sky watch and relax, sure. But you can also pack your skis or snowboard ride the largest single-structured sand dune in North America.

Mountain Bike: Sure, Boise has been recognized by Bike Magazine as the nation’s “#1 Mountain Biking Town,” but mountain biking runs deep all through Southwest Idaho. Bike the deserts and canyons of the Owyhee Canyonlands or the ridges of Idaho West Central Mountains. Your choice.

Motorcycle, ATV: Southwest Idaho has thousands of miles of trails just waiting to be explored. Whether you like exploring deep into the forest or going wide open on a desert flat, you’ll find it here.

Also Consider

Golf: Blue skies & green fairways….what could be better? Southwest Idaho has 20+ golf courses. Tee off on elevated high desert mesas or putt on a lakeside green.

Wine: The Snake River Valley Appellation, one of the nation’s newest wine regions is right here. Tour wineries. Taste. Relax.

Hot springs: Explore some of Idaho’s many natural hot springs. You’ll find them scattered throughout Southwest Idaho from Marsing to Lowman and everywhere in between.
